Coca Cola Drink Mix
Product Design
The project required the design and execution of a packaged brand extension of the Coca-Cola brand in the form of single-serve drink mix packets.

Expanding a Legendary Brand
Coming up with an extension of the Coca Cola brand was a bit of a challenge, considering they have been a powerful brand for over a century and branched out into several different markets with their iconic logo. I explored products and found common associations that consumers have in order to gather the essential components of the Coca-Cola Company.

Brainstorming Products
After researching the brand, I determined that a successful extension of the brand would accomplish the following:
• Combine the Coca-Cola brand image and aesthetic with functionality to
expand from immediately consumable/wearable products
• Reference the iconic logo, shapes, and colors of the brand
• Tie in the historical symbolism of American culture
• Reference the “retro” aesthetic to appeal to younger people and as a
nod to how long Coca-Cola has been a dominant force in the industry
Using these needs, I explored numerous possible extensions of
the Coca-Cola brand.

Establishing the Concept
I settled on a concept for powdered Coca-Cola beverages. The packets would be easily portable and mix with water, making Coca Cola products more accessible. For the container, I imagined a vending-machine-like approach, making these packets a focal point from outside of the package. An inner tray would hold these packets in place.

Bottle-Free Beverages
The packet dielines are to the point, using beverage logos and colors to ensure that the flavor contents are identifiable at a glance.

Pocket-Sized Perfection
When packed and sealed, these packets are perfect for enjoying your favorite Coca-Cola beverages anywhere, on-the-go.

Boxing up a Vending Machine
Once I had settled on my concept, I began creating the dieline for my "vending machine" package. An internal shelf fits into this dieline, ensuring packets stay neat.

Internal Shelving
An internal "shelf" is constructed from folded paper, holding each flavor separate to enhance the visual appeal of the packaged product on shelves.

Incorporating the Brand
Using common motifs from Coca-Cola's brand, I designed the box exterior to appear similar to the exterior of a vending machine. The clear view on the front of the box leaves the contents neatly exposed while the sides offered brand sentiment and detailed instructions.
