INDICO
Logo Design
This logo revamp called for something more unique to the cannabis industry and capable of having a variety of colorways.

The Original
Indico's previous logo design successfully reveals the company's product, but it does so in a rather predictable way. The open concept of the logo also limits the use of color, as there are no large areas to fill.

Color Inspiration
Indico had no brand color scheme prior to this redesign, so I first had to consider what colors would best represent this brand. In order to suggest the cannabis industry, I opted to work with a vivid green, gold, and red scheme that alludes to Rastafarianism, the Jamaican religious and social movement in which marijuana is a sacrament.

A New Typographic Identity
A large number of cannabis companies opt for more minimalist type, so I wanted to use a big and bold font to stand out, something that feels more fun and would work well with a Rasta-theme. Chi-Town regular accomplished this, combining interesting curves with sharp edges.

A New Approach
To formulate the design concept, I kept things black and white, focusing on how to arrange the brand name and symbol in a way that has more presence and variability. The typography I selected created a nice flow between the C and O in Indico, which serves as a nod to their state of operation (Colorado).

Finalized Logo
Adding in the color scheme reveals a vibrant and eye-catching logo, which reveals the company's objective while standing out from competitors and looking great on merchandise.

Layered Approach
Since the box uses colors in layers, the logo can retain its meaning and identity with slight tweaks to these layers, further increasing the range of the logo.

Endless Variability
This logo design has enough elements to support an incredible range of color variations and presentations, ensuring that the Indico brand can look great on anything.
